Jump Blue
Freediving - diving without a breathing apparatus - requires practitioners to encounter profound stillness. The body activates its mammalian dive reflex, drawing on ancient memory of our collective life in the ocean: slowing the heartbeat, contracting lungs, acting more like fish than human.
Natalia Molchanova was among the world’s best. Then, on a routine dive in 2015, she disappeared.
Based on an award-winning audio piece, and starring Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve, Harry Potter), Jump Blue is an XR installation combining biofeedback and VR to experientially re-imagine Natalia’s record-breaking dive to 101m and her final descent.
